๐ŸŽฌ I edited using Final Cut Pro X plus Motion 5 for this project. I paid for Producers Best Friend helped me understand the data feeding my project, and Final Cut Library Manager to keep track of files.

I used free music, free software, free effects, free visuals whenever possible. The music of Blevin Blectum & The Gasman appears in this film by special permission. When I had the okay to use a video from YouTube, I used ClipConverter.cc to download MP4 files. A portion of the proceeds for this film will go to support a mix of causes including the Wikimedia Foundation (Wikipedia), the Internet Archive / WayBack Machine, Creative Commons, plus $ to folks who made plugins, graphics, sounds, and expertise available free online. I took advantage of free lessons from generous FCPx teachers including Alex Gollner, T. Payton, Larry Jordan, Mark Spencer and Steve Martin.

Recovering old media is challenging; thanks to these folks for their hard work preserving digital history:
Olia Lialina's project Prof. Dr. Style: Top 10 Web Design Styles of 1993 (Vernacular Web 3), July 2010
Cameron Kaiser for help running old software, including X-Windows Mosaic in OSX
Installing WordPerfect for the Mac on Intel Macs allowed me to run NCSA Mosaic 1.0 for Mac on a 2015-era computer, thanks to Edward Mendelson
And thanks to the Mishawaka font research and recovery team!

๐Ÿ™ These folks watched and gave feedback: Will Rogers, Jamie Wilkinson, Ilyse Magy, Howard Rheingold, Lori McClurg, Jim McClurg, Joan Hall, Jules Beesley, Peggy Weil, Christopher Sikkenga, Jennifer Secord, Tom Wiltzius, James Defebaugh, Ben Cerveny, Rachel Cassandra, Gideon Wald, Miju Han, Elias Wald, Cassidy Wald, Colin Hall, Amanda Hall, Ryan Junell, Jon Leidecker, Adam Fisher, and students of Howard Rheingold's Winter 2015 Social Media Issues class Stanford COMM 282.

Thanks to my readers and viewers and listeners for sharing your attention with me. Years learning from you leads me to believe we are ultimately co-participants in a culture of mutual amusement and respect.

Thanks to all my sponsors and patrons through Paypal, Amazon, Patreon, VHX, couches, checks, cash and good cheer. You've invested your resources in my exploratory communications and I am so honored.

Thank you to my family and friends for abiding me amidst my public searching.
Thanks to Dad for sanding up my oyster.
Thanks to George for showing me how to stick around.
Thanks to Mom for being a mother and a father, a breadwinner, friend, teacher, role model and travel companion for life. Her unswerving faith in my potential to leave the world a better place has driven me to want to make my privileges, largely the result of her hard work, accessible to people beyond my ken.

Thanks to my partner Ilyse Iris Magy. She lent her eyes, her hands, her phone camera, her insight and her communications expertise to this project. She encourages me to experiment with my story in public. I could not have made this film without her support.
